Being in a stand-alone signal company has surely
been an experience to remember. Real signal battalions would not
stand for alot of the bull we go through now. All you can do is
make the best of it while you're here and take care of those you
control. |

I was assigned to the 596th in K-town in 62. I
stayed in FRG when the unit came back to CONUS in 63, and
rejoined the unit in Ft Huachuca. Joe Dempsey was in my Plt. 1SG
was Larry Teel. I still have part of unit roster when we went to
RVN. |

had the misfortune of being part of this company for
quite awhile, although i am proud of the veterans, and my fellow
soldiers who are left to the drudgery of working very long hours
there everyday-it is still a "bastard" |
